he stage is set for the grand inauguration of the Rayanapadu railway station in Vijayawada. The satellite railway station, developed at a cost of around Rs 35 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 17.Under phase 1 of the ABSS, the station facade, platforms, foot overbridges, circulation area and designated parking facilities were developed for Rs 20 crore.The redeveloped Rayanapadu railway station is currently serving as a halt station for trains operating between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam and vice versa, helping to decongest the rail traffic at Vijayawada main railway station, which is currently getting overwhelmed with arrivals and departures of around 300 trains daily.Rayanapadu railway station is among the 21 railway stations developed under phase 1 of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme in Vijayawada railway division.According to the railway authorities, Rayanapadu Amrit Station has been given a vibrant new identity with the completion of its upgraded facade. The design integrates the famous Kondapalli art theme, celebrating AP’s rich cultural heritage while presenting a modern architectural face.
